It is with great pleasure that Geocaching SA, on behalf of the organising committee, announce the location of GeoVenture 2020. The Millicent show grounds will play host over the Easter weekend from the 10th to the 13th of April, at 49 Adelaide Road (situated between Adelaide and Mount Burr roads). This fantastic site boasts large grounds for camping and activities, as well as a multiple large halls, an outdoor open air shed for evening gatherings, and new amenities currently under construction.
Less than a kilometer from George Street, Millicent’s commercial center. This provides multiple eatery options including numerous cafes, restaurants and three hotels, as well as a pharmacy, numerous supermarkets and a variety of banking options. A little further away at the other end of George Street is the Millicent Museum, Visitor Information Centre and Centennial Park, while south west is the Domain Playground and Skate park. Our committee member Sandi Spink (aka scramping) snapped a few photos of GZ below!
The event listing has now gone live (GC82DAN) and available to log a ‘Will Attend’ for those who are already committed to visiting Millicent and the south east of SA. A registration page will be up by the end of April[efn_note]We will be asking geocachers to register so we can plan our catering, activities and event logistics appropriately for the number of attendees.[/efn_note]. At the same time, onsite camping options will be available, with 72 powered and 163 unpowered sites for those who wish to be close to the action. Sandi was also nice enough to provide a short 360 video of the showground entrance.
For those on Facebook, you can keep up to date with the event progress via our GeoVenture 2020 page. We look forward to sharing our event progress with you in the coming year!
